Dead drift nymphing works best on this section of the water, since it does not have the turbidity of the upper Miracle Mile in CA. The largest section of the East Walker in Nevada is catch & release, NO bait, no kill. THe smaller section below this area, is the elbow, which is where the river abutts the road. standard NV regualtions 5 fish in posession. It then goes into private property (In fact the Elbow area is private property, and public access is granted, though people need to be a bit cleaner down there)

Concentrate on the edge and seams. A heavy tight-line/Czech nymphing system or streamers on sink-tip line are your best bet. If the flows have been jacked around it seems to put the fish down. It’s been stable at 600 CFS for a few days, but those flows are really high. I wouldn’t suggest wading.

However, most of the access points are pretty obvious if you drive past the bridge. You will see the yellow signs or just follow the two track roads to towards the river to a gate. There’s probably 5 or 6 access points, one on the high way just past the turn off, one right at the turn off, the bridge and two or three past that.

I am interested in fishing the Nevada side but haven’t been past the bridge area.
